Devoted exclusively to farming since childhood, Pol Braine took over the family farm, which he managed in a CUMA (Collective investment and joint use of machinery, building, workers for tasks directly linked to production cycles), at a young age. At the same time, he began a teaching career at the Collège Saint Louis in Waremme, where he taught agricultural and economic subjects.
As early as 1990, his passion for innovation led him to introduce new technologies in Belgium and France, such as single-phase beet harvesting and no-till, before rapidly moving on to precision farming with (automatic) steering systems for vehicles and equipment. He also proposed municipal equipment and a full range of spare parts.
Finally, to meet new environmental and food quality challenges, Pol developed a new hoeing concept combining productivity, robustness and versatility: the METIS.
